Holders of the Indian Standard XII will be considered for entry to the first year of our undergraduate degree programmes. Holders of Higher Diplomas with a good performance (at least B+ or GPA 3.2 above) will be considered for entry to year 2 of relevant undergraduate degree programmes within Engineering and Computer Science. Students who have completed one or two years of a Bachelors degree from an Ethiopian university with excellent grades can be considered for entrance to undergraduate programmes. This module covers the development of modern computer architectures for servers, workstations, hand-held devices, signal processing and embedded systems from the introduction of the four-stage RISC pipeline to the present day. The networking aspect of this module will expose students to the principles of layered communication protocols, the architecture of the Internet, and the principles of how the components of the TCP/IP layered model are designed and operate. This module aims to give students an understanding of the fundamentals of computer hardware and of the principles of operation of computers and peripheral devices.

For international students, the Home Office has confirmed that the University can choose to use these tests to make its own assessment of English language ability for visa applications to degree level programmes. The University is also able to accept an IELTS test from any of the 1000 IELTS test centres from around the world and we do not require a specific UKVI IELTS test for degree level programmes.
